I’m currently an educational evaluator at the NSW Department of Education. My twenty-year experience in education includes working as a secondary school teacher and ICT leader, teaching and convening in preservice teacher education, designing and delivering teacher professional learning, and managing several high-profile state- and national-level research projects. I’ve also worked on a range of research and professional learning projects where I’ve honed a skillset around developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with state, national, and international stakeholders from both government and industry. My research interests include understanding best practices in technology-enabled teacher professional learning, developing teacher autonomy and efficacy with ICT, and pedagogies for mobile learning and cloud computing.
Being flexibly employed at present, I’m able to choose much the work that I do and collaborate with some amazing people while being open to further opportunities. Since moving my focus from high school to university, I’ve developed expertise in mixed methods, case study-oriented research and project management.
I’m both a technologist and humanist. My three work-related passions are professional learning, research, and teaching.
Most of all, I’m passionate about life and learning. As an educator, technology enthusiast, traveller, musician, parent, and blgrogger, I have a lot of learning left to do. I believe education is the essence of empowerment, identity, expression, and individuality.
